On the mend.....

As you may or not know, my shops been closed for about a month since I was rushed by ambulance for emergency surgery and have been recovering.
I finally came home friday night, but still require some help with heavy lifting. I'm taking things slow for right now, and am not sure when I'm going to re-open the shop. My main focus for right now is getting back into the swing of things and tring to remember what the hell I was doing a month ago! I feel like I'm in a freakn' time warp!
It would be nice to hear from some of you, I'll be browsing around to see what has been going on with the chatters!

Crappy weekends can mean creative monday mornings...

After a sort of faux pax moment at dinner with my husband's family Sunday night, I was feeling pretty sh%ty. I awoke this morning with a swarm of ideas, I guess to empty my head of the uncomfortable night before!

Crafts are such a great way to relieve stress for me. It's such a meditative process, because I'm totally focused on an idea rather than the crap that might be going on in my life and as an extra bonus at the completion of my project I have something to be proud of and usually feel liberated.

So this morning, i made a Morning Glory necklace. I'm calling it "Morning Glory Sparkling Garden Necklace". It came out very pretty, and I think I might just make myself one! Give it some love peeps!

My new item!!

I'm calling them "Twinkle Toes" which is something my late Grandmother used to call my sister and I. I've been working on these toe rings to "unveil" in the spring but I figure that since I'm itching to see signs of summer, maybe some shoppers feel the same way I do and I'll get some sales anyway.

I'm adding "Indain Princess" ring today, the rest will be later this week.

I love to adorn my own toes and feet in the summertime with toe rings and ankle bracelets! I created these new stretch toe rings one day when I had an idea on how to keep from losing my toe rings! Most of the time, toe rings that are made of metal have an open adjustable back that tends to loosen sometimes with frequent wear. My stretch toe rings are elastic enough to easily slip on your toe and stay put, even during swimming!
If you don’t wear toe rings, these rings are also nice for children, or an adult pinky ring!
I have them affordably priced so you can go crazy and buy one for everyday of the week!

Be on the watch for....

my veiling of a new item I will be adding to my shop! Hint, it's a jewelry item that is great for summer!

Can you handle the anticipation?
Probably not since I have a total of 3 readers of this blog, but here's to hoping!

Failure is not an option!!!

For some reason, I thought being a stay at home mom would leave me with oodles of time to work on my art and crafts. Boy was I mistaken!
I have a lot of ideas, but can't seem to find the time to complete any of them! Lately it's been to the point where I thought about giving up again but then something happened that made me change my mind.
Through the years, I have a sort of eb and flow of art coming out of me. I'm either really really working hard on a bunch of stuff, or I throw in the towel and don't work on a single thing for months. The funny part is why I always go back to it...it's usually me looking at my work again and realizing that it's not so bad after all.
This time, however, it's not that I think my work is bad..it's just that I feel like I'm losing a battle with Etsy. I have scattered sales, and hardly any exposure. I was thinking about all of this when something in my house caught my attention. I have had an orchid plant for about 2 years now. I always wanted one, but I thought they were too expensive of a plant for me to probably kill. I often hear gardeners complain about how hard they are to take care of, but I was happy for a while knowing that I took the time to re-plant it and fertalize it ect. and it was looking pretty good. Then, like my art roller coaster, I stopped caring for it as much. I forgot to water it most of the time, and it was looking kind of, well, dead.
Yesturday, I sat down at our computer desk where the plant sits next to the window and was totally shocked to see that the plant is budding!! I couldn't believe it! So I'm using the plant as a sort of "get up and go" motto for myself. Failure is not an option!!
